Course overview
This course is designed to allow progression to Level 6 Accounts and Finance in January 2026 and then progress to either HNC Next Generation Accounting or HNC Financial Services from August 2026.
There has been significant growth within the finance and accounting sector and the source. You will be introduced to the different sectors within finance and accounts and the career opportunities available. You will develop effective communication skills and learn how to build positive relationships in a professional environment.
The award aims to
- Enable candidates to determine if they have an aptitude and interest in accounting
- Prepare candidates for entry into higher-level accounting qualifications, particularly HNC Accounting
- Prepare candidates for entry into other Finance and Accounting qualifications provided by professional bodies such as AAT
- Provide candidates with specific accounting-related knowledge and practical skills useful to employers
- Respond to market demand for relevant skills development and qualifications at a non-advanced level in accounting
