ESOL General English Courses

Exam Preparation Classes

If you want to take the IELTS test, you will have to pay exam fees of approximately £200.00.

Material Costs  

You will be expected to buy:  

  • Coursebook  
  • Workbook   

Your class teacher will tell you which book to buy. The costs will be between £50 - £70, and you may be able to get funding for these.

Assistance with Fees  

If you receive any of the following or are on a low income, you may be eligible for a fee waiver:

  • Universal Credit
  • Housing Benefit
  • Working Tax credit

Please check Course Fees Guidance on the college website for further information on benefits that may entitle you to a fee waiver.

If you receive Universal Credit, you must attend the college drop-in sessions to check your fee status.

 You do not need to pay fees if you are:  

  • Under 21  
  • An asylum seeker
  • Have Humanitarian Protection Status
