English Language Teacher Training
Edinburgh College is an established provider of English Language teacher development programmes. Teachers of all levels are catered for, from new teachers just entering the profession to experienced teachers requiring to refresh and develop their skills.
Programmes are available for both teachers of English and teachers of other subjects. Teachers of all levels are catered for, from new teachers just entering the profession to experienced teachers requiring to refresh and develop their skills. Teacher Development Programmes can take place at the College, in your home country, online or any mix of the three - this can depend on the type of qualification required and your own delivery preferences. Teacher Development Programmes for groups can take place at any time of year and, for programmes delivered in Edinburgh, can also include a social programme, accommodation, airport pickup and local travel arrangements.
Programmes available include:
- Teacher Knowledge Test (TKT)
- In-service Certificate in English Language Testing (ICELT)
- Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA)
- Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)

There are two main types of teacher training programmes at Edinburgh College:
- Specially designed group programmes
- Programmes leading to a recognised Cambridge English Teaching Qualification
