Affordable Accommodation in Edinburgh – Find the Right Option for You
Edinburgh is a popular city, especially in the summer when thousands of visitors arrive, particularly in August. Accommodation fills up quickly, so we recommend booking as early as possible.
Edinburgh College can arrange homestay accommodation, but for other options, you will need to book directly.

Homestay Accommodation
A comfortable and affordable home-away-from-home experience.

- Convenient Location – All homestays are near public transport routes to our Sighthill campus and the city centre.
- Flexible – Choose from half board (meals included) or self-catering, with options for a single or shared room.
- Safe and Inspected – All homestays are checked every two years by our Accommodation Officer to meet Accreditation UK (British Council) standards.
Homestay Prices
(Per Week, Including £25 Summer Supplement)
- £225 – Single room, half board
- £195 – Single room, self-catering
- £195 – Shared room, half board*
Homestays are usually booked from Sunday to Sunday. Extra nights may cost more, and we cannot guarantee the same host for additional nights. Students under 18 must return to their homestay by 11:00 PM each night.
* Shared rooms are only available for two students of the same gender and similar age who apply together.
Halls of Residence and Student Flats
For students who want more independence.
- Location – No student residences are available at Sighthill Campus, but some options are available in other parts of the city.
- Independence – More expensive than homestay but offers more freedom.
- Facilities – Most offer private bedrooms, some with en-suite bathrooms. You will have a shared kitchen, where you must prepare your meals. This is a fantastic way to meet students outside your Summer School group.

- Milton Road Campus – Our Milton Road Accommodation is a purpose-built accommodation block situated next to the main campus building.
