College launches report highlighting impact across the region
Edinburgh College has launched a new report that gives an insight into the College’s social and economic impact, and a snapshot of the crucial role it plays not just as a place of social sanctuary and cultural diversity, but of economic innovation, for the Edinburgh city-region.
The report, entitled Our Capital, Our College, draws together internal and external data to show how the college is delivering for individuals and communities across the capital city region, as well as supporting key national missions on themes such as equality, community and opportunity.
The report will be the first in a series of upcoming reports exploring aspects of the college’s work and its wide-ranging impact on the individuals, communities and region it serves.
This new report reminds us of the importance of the Edinburgh city region to the national economy and, in turn, captures some of the ways Edinburgh College, as a key economic anchor institution, contributes to the region’s economic dynamism. Through our training, upskilling and reskilling programmes for individuals and employers we support the region’s development through plugging skills gaps, supporting people to progress in work and providing opportunities to people from all backgrounds. We look forward to sharing this report with our partners and continuing our engagement with them as we work together towards our common ambitions for the region’s future economic prosperity.Edinburgh College Vice Principal Michael Jeffrey
