Edinburgh College secures five nominations at 2024 CDN College Awards
Edinburgh College has been shortlisted for five awards at the 2024 CDN College Awards, highlighting its commitment to excellence in education and innovation, as well as showcasing the talents of its staff.
The annual CDN Awards celebrate the skills and achievements of Scotland’s college sector and its impact on students, communities whilst recognising the vital contribution it makes to the national economy.
This year, Edinburgh College has been shortlisted in the following categories:
- Digital Learning Award – Bridging the Skills Gap: Reskilling and Upskilling for a Digital Future.
This project focuses on equipping learners with the digital skills necessary for the Scotland’s ever evolving workforce and addressing skills gaps through innovative learning pathways. - Health and Wellbeing Award – Halls of Residence Engagement Project. This initiative aims to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students residing in Edinburgh College accommodation, enhancing their overall wellbeing and success.
- Inclusive College Award – Black History and Representation in FE through Make-Up Artistry.
This ground-breaking project promotes diversity and inclusion by exploring Black history and representation in the Further Education sector through make-up artistry. - Lecturer of the Year Award – Becky Galbraith. In recognition Becky’s exceptional efforts in creating Scotland’s first football course for school aged girls and her commitment to providing equal educational opportunities for girls within football.
- Professional Services Colleague of the Year Award – Catherine McCormack. Catherine has been shortlisted for her invaluable work in supporting care experienced students at Edinburgh College for many years.
These nominations highlight the innovative work being done at Edinburgh College to enhance the student experience, support learner wellbeing, and promote inclusivity across the College community.
