Hairdressing and barbering students style their way to medal glory
Three outstanding Edinburgh College hairdressing, beauty and barbering students have shone on the national stage as they won four medals between them at the recently held Association of Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) annual Scottish Heats.
A group of students attended the heats at New College Lanarkshire alongside lecturers Ross Berridge, Adelle Smillie, Nicky Heneke, Jose Gonzalez, Wendy Brown to test out their skills alongside students from across Scottish colleges and training centres in a wide range of categories.
After an exhilarating day of style, skill, glitz and glamour on show at the competition, Jessica Bell, Jessica Strek and Theo Burns brought one gold, two silvers and one bronze medal back to Edinburgh College.
Having won medals at the Scottish heats, our medallists will now have the chance to compete in the UK-wide AHT finals in Blackpool later this year, while more students can attend the competition in direct entry categories.
