Have you ever wanted to improve your recording, mixing and mastering skills? Are you finding your productions are lacking that professional edge? At Edinburgh College, we may have a class that can help you take your work to the next level.
The creative sound engineering course is delivered at our Sighthill campus in our full Audient/Neve studio. You will explore recording techniques for various instruments and contexts, audio editing, production techniques, signal flow, mixing and mastering. Upon completion of the course, you will feel comfortable with the basic operation of a professional recording studio.

- How to use Compression
- Reverb and Delay Techniques
- How to add colour to your mix
- How to make a master suitable for release
Number of days per week
1 evening per week (2.5 hours) for 8 weeks
Entry requirements
- No formal entry requirements but an interest in music and a basic understanding of using a computer are essential
English Proficiency Requirements
A basic grasp of the English language is recommendedProgression and Articulation Routes
- UAL Level 2 & 3 taught at Edinburgh College
