Course overview

This 18-week full-time course will support you in preparing to audition for a full-time acting course by developing your skills in acting, voice, movement, group work and performance techniques. With state-of-the-art facilities that include movement and rehearsal studios, Aerial space and our in-house Theatre and Fringe Venue, we offer the best to start your creative journey. 

This course is based on practical work. You will be introduced to audition techniques and immerse yourself in acting as you gain essential experience in professional environments and make crucial connections with theatre professionals. Theatre visits, workshops and graduate Q&As will enhance your learning and you will showcase your developing skills in performance opportunities throughout the course.  Students in this course will collaborate with other students across Performing Arts Studio Scotland.

No assessed placement but students have participated in Cultural Exchange Trips with Edinburgh Festival Carnival to

Where they have worked with arts organisations in a variety of contexts. 

How the course is assessed

  • The course is assessed through participation in practical workshops and performances and ongoing reflection and research to support your practical exploration.

Number of days per week

  • 3 full days

Entry requirements

  • Complete the online application process
  • A strong personal statement with a desire to pursue a performing arts career. 
  • Entry will be based on a practical audition where we look for potential, commitment, energy and focus.

Information on Tests / Auditions / Interview Requirements

  • You will be invited to a group workshop audition during which you will have a short interview with members of the PASS acting team.

  • UAL3 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts  
  • HND Acting & Performance  

Career options

  • Audition for further training and or work in the industry as an actor, performer or within production on Stage, TV and Film.
